A touch of woodland charm and gentle motion imbue this high-fire sculpture fountain. Inspired by frequent vistis of her beloved Possoms to her home, Madalyn has sculpted a mother and her three baby possoms resting on a log, from the hollow of which water flows creating the sense of a natural spring. The bowl glaze is Ebony with numerous glazes on the Possoms and setting. The rim of the bowl was lightly textured to harmonize with the theme.
The fountain is completely handmade, is unique and this design will not be made again. The combination of functional fountain and wildlife sculpture makes this piece equally suited to a living room, study, sunroom, office, or nature-inspired décor setting. Handmade ceramic fountains are valued for their individuality and artistic character, with each piece reflecting the direct work of the potter rather than mass-production methods.
